Practicing the Way: Be with Jesus. Become like him. Do as he did.
Hello! Beautiful Women of God! God is GOOD!Oh! What a privilege and honor it is to be His beloved daughters and disciples of Christ.But do you understand what it truly means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ?Join us in this journey of our spiritual transformation to become a disciple of Jesus Christ whom he delights in. Our culture is so distracted, fragmented, and hurried. Many of us are simply too busy and exhausted to have a meaningful life with God. As all of us are trying our best to live our lives for God, we are constantly being formed by the world around us. But to be formed by Jesus will require us to become his apprentice. In this study, we will learn to live by what the first christian discples called a Rule of Life—a set of practices and relational rhythms that slow us down and open up space in our daily lives for God to do what only God can do—transforms the deepest parts of us to become like him. As His kingdom daughters, let us learn to integrate the practices and rhythms of Jesus and his earliest followers, creating space for the Holy Spirit to form us of depth and love. Yes! The true disciple of Christ follow the Way of Jesus. We can be with him. Become like him. And do as he did. :) If we would all follow in His ways, our lives would change and the whole world would change as Jesus has commanded us, "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” GO and therefore make disciple of all nations." Matthew 28:19
Session 1 - Following Jesus
Following Jesus is more than going to church or believing the right things; it is practicing a way of life. The meaning of “follow Jesus” is rooted in 1st-century practices of rabbis and apprentices, practices that inform our understanding of how to follow Jesus today.
Session 2 - Formation Part 01Whether we realize it or not, all of us are being formed — by our habits, relationships, the stories we believe, and our environment. This session explores the six primary forces shaping individuals: habits, relationships, stories, environment, time, and experience.
Session 3 - Formation Part 02Many of us desire to become more like Jesus, but we feel stuck. We need a training program, a reliable pathway to transformation. We find this in the Way of Jesus, which shows us how to intentionally engage formation.
Session 4 - The PracticesThe Practices are disciplines that create space for the Spirit to transform us from the inside out. Learn about practicing ancient disciplines that open us up to God to change us at the deepest level.
Session 5 - Meeting God in Pain & SufferingThe Practices can expose pain as our soul begins to process and discharge suffering. This session explores the three primary ways people deal with pain (deny, detach, or drug), how unhealed pain sabotages transformation, and how God can meet us in pain to bring lasting change.
Session 6- Healing from SinThis session covers three dimensions of sin — sin done by us, sin done to us, and sin done around us — and explores four layers of sin we move through in our healing: gross sins, conscious sins, unconscious sins, and attachments. Finally, the session covers our part in healing, the practice of confession.
Session 7 - Crafting Rule of LifeTransformation is possible, but it’s not inevitable. Learn how to build an intentional plan, or what the early Christians called a “Rule of Life”: a schedule and a set of practices and relational rhythms that create space for us to be with Jesus, become like him, and do as he did.
Session 8 - Life TogetherTo sustain a lifelong journey of following Jesus, we need to key in on one final critical truth: You are meant to follow Jesus in community. Learn how to cultivate a community of depth, vulnerability, and commitment to transformation.
